Below article shows peoples opinion regarding ms. I am sure you are aware that the next version will not be allowed to be installed on not so old hardware... www.ravereviews.org/brands/the-most-hated-brands-in-every-country/I hear many friends being angry. Then i tell them about bodhi linux. Something seems to stop them though from making the move to linux. So i still wait for the year of the linux.

It is interesting how reluctant people are to making the change. Between chip shortages, video card shortages, costs, etc. I'm surprised people are not doing more to preserve "old" systems...and I say old jokingly...an old PC to me is not a four year old laptop that MS decided is outmoded. Regardless, thanks for your post, ligoxi .

I keep trying to convince my wife she doesn't need Windows. She claims, and who knows if she's right, that the complex formatting her team uses doesn't survive export/import so she has to work from MSOffice - and not the online version. I might be wearing her down.

I keep trying to convince my wife she doesn't need Windows. She claims, and who knows if she's right, that the complex formatting her team uses doesn't survive export/import so she has to work from MSOffice - and not the online version. I might be wearing her down. I ran Bodhi and tried to use the online version of MS Office for grad school - your wife is correct; it is terrible. Like, unusable. Thinking of attempting any kind chart/graph/figure is genuinely a joke. This unfortunately forced me to convert my laptop to a windows machine for a while to run the full Office suite (thank goodness school provided Windows and Office licenses, so at least I didn't have to pay for them...).
Converting/exporting spreadsheets with complex figures and graphs out of the Linux office suites generally ends poorly as well. I really wish Linux had a better office suite. I have yet to find one that works well, granted it has been a while.
Keep working at it
