Hi everyone.
Something that’s not working for me on two Bodhi laptops are the integrated webcams. I also have a USB webcam that works fine a substitute, but I wouldn’t mind giving the integrated cams a little poke to see if I can get them working.
What’s the best way to go about this? For one of the laptops, I stumbled across this github link: github.com/jfwells/linux-asus-t100ta. There may be some useful stuff in there, but it goes over my head. The ReadMe talks about patching kernels, building drivers... I don’t know what to do with that github content. I don’t know if it’s worth sinking time into learning about it, because I don’t know if it’ll even give me a working webcam in the end, or if I’ll end up worse than I started with a borked system.
So I’m wondering, is there a simpler path to follow? Are webcams usually straightforward or nightmarish to get working on Linux? What are your recommendations?
