Insync is working but error ocurrs when upgrade [SOLVED]

Looks like this application is expecting Ubuntu's update-notifier package to be installed. This is not something Bodhi has installed by default nor something Bodhi needs to function. I can think of 4 different ways of fixing this, so I will just post here the one I would probably do if I had this issue:


sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/update-notifier/user.d/
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Apt should work now ok. I just fake it to make it 'look' like update-notifier is installed. Actually installing update-notifier would slow your system down a small amount as it launches processes unneeded by Bodhi.  Hopefully this causes no issues with the insync app, if it appears to try to install update-notifier.

For the record, your problem was the fault of whoever packaged the insync application. A post install script should not error out like that and break apt. I glanced it over but it is not clear what the error is, seems like it does test for the existence of the needed directory, before attempting to write to it. But I am probably missing something, i just got up from bed in the middle of the night to smoke and headed back to bed. Just happen to see this post ...
