I'm using Bodhi on a very old eeepc and loving it, but I couldn't find the external hard drive I plugged in, so had to email my document to myself. Inxi -Fxz in the terminal just brings up 'inxi: not found'. Fwiw, the external mouse I plugged in worked like a charm.
thanks in advance

I appreciate the advice.
sudo fdisk -i gives the result as above, but beginning with
fdisk: invoalid option -- 'i'
sudo lsblk -f give me 'command not found
So does sudo lsblk -f without the 'sudo'

It’s where -l is a lower case L. I sometimes wonder why they chose a lowercase L when it can look exactly like an upper case i one of these characters I don’t know the name of | and a 1. I used to find, when in doubt copy and paste. 😉

Hey, thanks for your patience! sudo fdis -l gets me as follows (don't seem to be able to put screenshots in here, so I'm typing it)
(that's with the external hard disk not plugged in)

You should be able to mount the drive like this If you change directory to /mnt you should see the contents of the drive. To list files and folders. You might find this tutorial useful.

(much later) Well, here's where I'm at now:
ls just gives me sda1/ sdc1/
Nothing comes up when I click on the tutorial link there.
Update: when I click on the Mount Tool, my hard drive is there, as 'sdd1'. If I put the cursor over it, the name I gave the disk appears. I still don't know how to open it or to save into it.
