Thank you for the information gbano - at this point, it sounds like you have done a fair amount of digging around. Hopefully one of our more Linux back-end savvy team members has an idea. Let me add one more thing, maybe it can help: lshw […] *-network DISABLED description: Wireless interface .. and so on. Since this forum blocks TOR, I cannot copy & paste directly from my machine (which I defaulted there…), so this is a snippet. What jumps out is the contradiction between no hard/soft blocking but lshw showing it as disabled. This affects only the WiFi module. Once connected via LAN cable, it’s all fine. Further to the above: It froze once again! So I wanted to restart the disabled WifI using its logical name as shown in the 'lshw‘ output: USER@Bodhi:~$ ifconfig wlp2s0 SIOCSIFFLAGS: Input/output error And the same with But it doesn’t work. What could this output tell me? USER@Bodhi:~$ ip link set wlp2s0 up
RTNETLINK answers: Input/output error

Hm, strange that on your machine that file is empty. I now have Bodhi running on two machines (Thinkpad X60 and X61), one with the 32bit version, the other with the latest 64bit version and both had the powersave set to 3 in that file. Both had the freezing problem and for both it went away after setting powersave to 2.
So I guess putting this into default-wifi-powersave-on.conf is possible to help:
[connection] wifi.powersave = 2
But it might be an indicator of something gone wrong during installation that the file is completely empty in the first place?

This may be a totally different problem, and anyway, it's not really a solution, but I could not get the wifi on an HP laptop to work with Bodhi. I chalked it up to the kernel and bought a USB-WIFI adapter for around 8 dollars. It's a little awkward and uses up a USB port, but it works great.
