The green icon set is my experimental project for ArcGreen theme. Nowadays Janne Tamming has been working on whole Bodhi Apppack icon set in green. I will look at those 2 icons you suggested. When ready, I will package theme and upload to the bodhi repository. As far as Brave browser is concerned, yes, you are right. The task icon is red. Not sure why. I need to do some research. Thanx for reminder
A simple homework for you: as I do not want to install those 2 apps, you could do me a favor and tell me the apps icons names. You can obtain the name the same method as I described above for Brave. Use Moksha desktop entry editor.
The first icon says com.visualstudio.code and the second one is named anydesk. Thank you for your kind advices
And a small icon enhancement if you plan to upload the icons from the previous post image. In the visual studio code icon the one i refer to is for the free version where the icon is slightly different.
My suggestions are just for making BL 6 look pro there is no need to urge things by your side. I can wait for instance Jane's work. My post was just to help in my way to improve the theme without caring about when the changes will apply. I am already frustrated by the comment of someone who for sure has never coded a single line in his entire life under a BL 6 review that it took a year to take BL to ubuntu 20.04 and ylee answering to him. No need to bother with such people. Sorry for the offtopic
Please then be prepared for more suggestions in the near future if i notice anything. I am the kind of person that if there is a dead pixel on my screen my eye will always stay around this area, feeling like the screen is full of dead pixels
Haha, another obsessive community member. But yea, why not. Any good point could lead to better moksha. Unfortunately as you probably noticed, we are only 2 developers. Ylee as main dev and me. I am sure you will find some glitches. Moksha still not perfect and with some limitations. It is a compromise of low resources software for HW vs rich and beautiful windows manager. I am looking forward to your suggestions. But try to be gentle pls, lol.
Not new to BL. I was really happy with the version perhaps 4? That was with a black theme. The only color seen was some colored squares during loading the DE. My perspective: I like the team of two people. This has the problem of lack of resources ie time but both of you have a clear view of every aspect of your activities. I have read in an answer of yours to someone that if he was a graphic designer to suggest something instead of just criticizing. My perspective is: i totally trust all of your choices since both of you have spent so much time with trials and errors. So i do not make any customization at all. I like the fact that the theme i use comes from one person that uses BL and does not see it as a Hobby distro. To me what matters most is the minimalism and most important to have a stable distro. To be able to do my job without the os taking up any resources even though my desktop and my laptops can afford ie gnome. 8 gb of ram is not for sure pretty much but i have no issues in a daily basis. Looking forward to see BL becoming more and more a pro distro. I am not here cause my machines lack resources. I am here because i like the dev team vision and philosophy. And yes although it is not critical for me i find arc green really awesome. So do not expect any complaints from me or any design suggestions ie do it like this. My only suggestions will be towards stability issues if any and if i notice anything that is not fitting in the green dark theme i use.
Very good point. Thank you for that. I am happy you understand our goals. For me the top priority is stability. I think Robert (ylee) did a significant leap since E17 was forked. E17 was not as stable as Moksha these days. Unfortunately people want more. I am very unhappy when people judge distro on first sight. "It is green. Very green. I do not like green so Bodhi is the worst distro ever". I am serious. I've read several comments like this. They do not understand (really not sure why) they can change theme, or change wallpaper or install Bodhi and play around if fullfils their needs in different way. No, distro is green. Maybe I should stop my writing here and make an positive conclusion. I like objective people who can judge how hard is to maintain such a huge project as Linux distribution. If they can consider our thousands of hours in front of the screen instead of playing with our children or grandchild, devoting time on our another hobbies, and of course for free. No, distro is too green Yes, it is green and we like it. And to get back to the thread topic. Distro will be even greener with some new icons you asked for
I have read all comments on every online article YouTube video or review regardindg BL and with some comments i laugh. If anyone has ever coded a single line of code even css knows how much time even the smallest detail needs. I in the past had to suffer from a customer who was constantly asking me to change this change that place this a little bit on the right make this narrower etc and it was taking so much time cause she needed to see on the website all different colors it was a nightmare. If my opinion counts i would want all your efforts in the arc green theme. I want the dev team to tell me this is how we after so much of hard work we think our distro should look and work. If you like it welcome aboard. I do not make any customization since i will for sure make some wrong decisions. I totally trust the dev team for my os of choice.
