I have an old laptop with a dead battery. I was running Ubuntu but the laptop is severely underpowered. So I created a USB to install Bodhi. I checked the md5 and everything was great. During install, I bumped the power cord out of the wall. I have no idea what stage I was at when that happened. Now when I boot, it goes to GRUB 2. I'm not sure where to go from here to bring it back to life. I know I am missing information for anyone to provide a complete solution at this point. I just don't know what I need to know to figure out what I don't know. |

I’d be tempted to just start again. Sounds as though the installation didn’t complete.

Unless you have a fair amount of Linux knowledge, it likely is easiest to start again as Hippytaff proposed.

Starting again is fine. When I came back to my laptop, the power was off. That's when I realized the power came unplugged. Replugged and hit the power button with the USB still inserted. Booted to GRUB. I'm not sure how to get to the boot screen to select live boot/install/boot normal/etc.

Should be exactly the same as you did the first time. Boot with the usb in, just make sure usb is first in the boot sequence, which I imagine e you would have done the first time 🙂

Does grub menu list uefi? if so select that which gives you another menu to select boot device as usb.

Welcome!
As others have said you should check you BIOS boot order to ensure the USB is first to boot. Mentioning more info like what make/model your laptop is would be useful in helping you. I suppose you don't have UEFI but we'll know for sure after you provide the laptop producer and model.
