I would like to remove the default screenshot app that comes with BL6. It's shown as Take Screenshot in the main menu, but what is the app's name ? I need to know this so I can remove it in the terminal.
Many thanks in advance for any help with this.
PS. Instead of using the default screenshot that comes with BL6, I've installed xfce4-screenshooter, which appears to give more options, e.g. a screenshot of a selected area. Before this, I installed Screenshot - Advanced from Bodhi's AppCenter, but then couldn't find it in the main menu. I tried launching it in the terminal, but that didn't seem to work.

Hello mimi
We will not remove "Take Screenshot" from the menu as this module is a Moksha core part. Yes, it is very basic in functions but enough good for me and users daily usage. Screenshot-advance I suppose is the extra module for moksha. Of course you can not find it in the menu because it is a module, not application. You will find it in Modules section. You need to load the module and then add on the shelf via shelf content (right click on the shelf)

The Take Screenshot in the main menu is not an app as you are thinking of it, it is a module and is part of our window manager Moksha.
If you don't want to see it in the menu, you can unload it either from the module settings in the settings menu or via the command below:
enlightenment_remote -module-unload shot As noted above the Screenshot - Advanced module on the appcenter is a Moksha Module. It also is not an application. You load the module and place the Modules gadget on your desktop or in a shelf.

Yea, Robert is right. You can unload the shot module from CLI but if you are a GUI guy, just unload it from module section i.imgur.com/xMYS0HB.jpgStefan

thewaiter ylee Thank you both for your advice. I'm gradually finding my way around Moksha and getting used to slightly different ways of doing things compared to what I've been used to (lxle, xfce). However, it's growing on me and hope to make this my day-to-day distro of choice for the next 4 years, after I've ironed out a couple of minor snags. Thank you again.

I installed Screenshot-advance, according to your instructions, and it's now on the shelf where I can see it, so I'm keeping Take Screenshot, and now removing the xfce4-screenshooter I'd installed. I prefer to use the apps designed for Moksha, rather than pulling in stuff with dependencies designed for other DEs .
Many thanks again.

You've probably figured it out the screenshot module you added does have the option to select a region with mouse and does have a tray gadget. I also have it loaded and keep it in my tray for that very purpose. I keep the the default shot module around (the one comes by default in start menu) for when I want to do a whole desktop shot quickly (and it's tied to the printscreen key by default, so I don't actually use it from the start menu). Both of them are configurable, for example you can turn off the "feature" that makes it load the captured image in an editor.

Thanks all you for the very useful comments, which I've read over. However, I have just one small question before I leave this thread.
The Screenshot-Advanced module is now visible on the shelf, but the icon looks like a small photograph of a camera which doesn't quite blend in with the flat green icons of the Moksha theme. Is there a way of changing the camera icon (and other icons like htop) to the flat green Moksha one ?

Is there a way of changing the camera icon (and other icons like htop) to the flat green Moksha one ? To do this, you have to edit the Mosksha theme itself. Many of the icons on system tray uses icons that are hard-coded into Moksha and are not controlled by the icon theme. This is a big problem with many moksha themes, they don't use icons from the assigned theme due to being hardcoded into moksha theme. And even the ones that use icons, often are assignd to icons that are meant for other things. And if they do, they won't show up when you change themes, you must "reset moksha" before the icons on the system tray update to the ones from your current theme.

It will be easy to do. I will add screenshot-advance section to the ArcGreen theme like we did for Vice theme. enigma9o7: As you know we with Ylee had hands full or hard and important work before BL 6 release. We really had no time to keep an eye on every micro issue you faced with icons As I had no answer off hand it would take time for me to do the research. I was full of belief you understood... Stefan

Though it’s fair to say themes and icon sets are very complicated and difficult to work with. Anyway, pleased the thread issue has been resolved. 🙂

Then the changes will be visible at your place Stefan Many thanks Stefan for fixing this - from the discussion in this thread I can see that it's no easy task. Does this mean that the next time there is an ArcGreen package update, the camera icon on the shelf will automatically change to a Moksha one? Apologies if this should be obvious to me !
