I need help with booting Bodhi Linux. For some reason every single time I tried to boot from installed USB, the laptop wouldn't boot and instead just shuts down. No error message, nothing. I'm using ASUS GL503GE - i7 8750H, 1050Ti (through Optimus), 8GB RAM, 250GB 970 EVO Plus. The laptop only supports UEFI mode, and Secure Boot is already off. The USB disk was made with Rufus. I can recommend Rufus (windows app) with dd option enabled.

To echo previous posts, rufus needs the dd option to be selected otherwise the live usb will not work. It looks as though this is what has happened in this case.

Windows and Linux www.balena.io/etcher/I'm not really sure because a lot of people don't like it. It is very easy to use.

S I got Bodhi live USB to boot (after flashing to USB using DD method) so I installed it to another USB (planning to make it a mining USB that I can put in any of my machine to mine Monero). Now the same happens. It boots to GRUB, tries to boot the OS, then the whole laptop shuts down.

I tend to avoid Etcher as well, since I don't like downloading a 100MB+ file just to flash a ISO to USB, so I generally use Rufus myself.

Do you complete a checksum after downloading?
