Nvidia 7025 nforce 630a I installed bodhi linux latest version, Tried to install driver as it was lagging, 304 driver was outdated maybe. Downloaded from nvidia run file, but it also finished with some incompatibility with kernel or something nvidia-304 has been EOL by nvidia, they're not updating it anymore. The Nvidia 6100 on my old althon 64 is supported by that driver. It's available for Bodhi Linux 4.5 from ubuntu xenial repositories....
For Bodhi Linux 5, is it not provided by in ubuntu bionic repository, and as you observed, running Nvidia's installer directly doesn't work. You can in fact patch it and make it install tho, I have done so, if you really want to. I ended up going back to noveau though. [ FYI: If you find some advice suggesting you to try adding the graphics ppa you'll run into conflicts with xorg version if you to try to install nvidia-304 from there so wont work, I've tried. ]
For Bodhi Linux 6, the kernel is too new to use patch to make work. So if noveau isnt working for you, don't update to BL6 when it's released.
FYI nvida-340 is also EOL but nivia's last release supports up to kernel 5.4 and is available in Bodhi Linux 6! [And that's what my laptop uses!]
Appearanty this kind of thing is one reason why some people are not happy with nvidia on linux; nivida wont open source their drivers so community can't update it, so we rely on nouveau which was written independently without much help from nvidia.
