I foolishly installed PlayOnLinux, because I wanted Microsoft's Freecell and Spider Solitaire. I do have Aisleriot but when you have to click the completed piles 50 times to win the game, after a while it messes with your motor system (i.e. tendinitis, carpal tunnel etc). As usual, I got nowhere. Never had any luck with Wine and its relatives. I am basically of the opinion that you don't need Windows stuff on Linux, but this is an exception. I am developing problems with my wrist/arm because of all the mouse-clicking. But how do I uninstall it? Can't do it via terminal. I could try Synaptic, but a search yielded a bunch of green boxes and I don't want to remove something essential.

Solved it. I needed to put playonlinux in the terminal exactly like that, not PlayOnLinux, or play-on-linux etc. I used the apt-get purge --auto-remove command, all is well now.
As for aisleriot, I guess I'll just line up the piles up and call it good. Kills one's stats, however...

works offline as a chrome/chromium app. There's lots of these, this is just an example I quickly found and seems to work.
sudo apt install bodhi-chromium
At least it has an auto-complete button. But it didnt pop up until I had every card showing.

For that matter, even epiphany web can do something similar with a site like this:
Makes it an app with its own icon and menu entry etc. This one seems to have lotsa automatic stuff, even put my aces up for me... perhaps its configurable tho I didnt check settings.

Thanks! I will check these out. Although anytime I see the word "Google" I have a tendency to tread carefully.

New reply to an old thread: The Wife just can't get used to Libre or Free Office. So I reinstalled Play On Linux on my Bodhi drive, and was able to get MS Office up and running. First time it ever worked. So POL can indeed be a useful app. Much easier than straight Wine. I may have to put Bodhi on her laptop now. I've already got Zorin, PC Linux and windows 7 on there, but if putting Bodhi on it solves her problem (not to mention the endless complaining directed my way), I will do it. I hesitated to put Bodh on it before as Bodhi can be less user-friendly to Linux newbies, but she's somewhat experienced now, so I think it will work.

Thank you, that is excellent news and we appreciate the update. I have never used Play On Linux, but reading of this success is encouraging should other users need to. Bodhi does take a while to get used to, but not too long. It's worth driving for a bit. Please keep us posted and cheers!

There are other office variants as well. WPS office is an MS clone, and there are at least a half-dozen others you may find more agreeable to your needs.
