I had bodhi 5 running on an old zotac htpc and gave it to my parents just to run kodi. I got the thing back a few days ago. Everything was running fine. No updates had been applied for a good while though. So I tried to do that at my place. Something went wrong, moksha doesn't start any more, but when I hit ctrl + alt+F2, I can login. I just want to update the system. For some reason however, the PC can't connect to the bodhi repo (“W: Some index files failed to download.”). I compared /etc/apt/sources.list to my other two running bodhi instances, everything is identical... I can ping google, and there are no problems with the ubuntu repos. I want to avoid installing bodhi again, I've already tried, but the BIOS und UEFI on this machine are a nightmare and I can't figure out how to get that done (when I installed bodhi first, I had to do that on an identical zotac and clone the hard drive). So, any help would be much appreciated

What about /etc/apt/sources.list.d ? Is there something in there that is no longer available? 32 bit chromium is a common gotcha on systems that haven't been touched in a while.
Edit: or an oudated kodi repo?

Perhaps a screenshot of what happens when you sudo apt upgrade and fail.
As to installing clean, the trick is "dd" mode usually. Write the iso using dd for linux, or if using windows use rufus and select the "dd" option when prompted at the end if you wanna use iso mode.

I did a clean install using the dd method. Thanks a lot for your help, problem solved.
