I deleted some files (screenshots) from the desktop and expected these to be found in the trash can... but the trash can remains empty. What's the reasoning behind this? In Microsoft Windows they would've been transfered to the trash can, only files deleted from the command prompt are blackholed there.

Could it be a setting in preferences in the file manager.
May be the "move deleted files to..." is unchecked.

Nope, my settings are the same as yours, and the two "Confirm before..." settings are also checked here. When I delete files from within the file manager they do end up in the trash can, but NOT if I right-click on them and then click Delete... Confirmation dialogs always appear. No idea what's wrong here, or did I miss something that's beyond my logical expectations?

I will just repeat what has been already said. Enlightenment File Manager (EFM) as an embeded desktop file manager is aimed to provide just the basic file operations. That is the reason why Jeff Hoogland as the former Bodhi dev removed it from previous BL releases. We brought it back mainly because users were asking for desktop icons. This feature is also a part of EFM. Now we know EFM is sorta buggy and lacks some features which common FM provides. Use PcmanFM or Thunar or any other file manager as alternative...

Thanks. Now I understand something I didn't know before too. I thought the desktop icons module somehow used pcmanfm, but now understand its using something else (EFM).
I guess its not possible to make the desktop use pcmanfm (like lxde and slitaz for example)?
