In order to overcome GeoIP restrictions, I often use a VPN. Back on Windows 7, this is what I was able to do: 1. setup a VPN connection (by connecting to my VPN service) 2. then use "internet sharing" (Share this PC's connection) for that PC, using it as a gateway. So my question is, can this be done with Bodhi?
Connecting to a VPN is the first thing, how? What's the best VPN application for Bodhi? Then, how do I set up my machine as gateway (so that all that connect through it) are masked? Any help appreciated as always.

As you might know, Bodhi is based on Ubuntu, so when in doubt if itโs not Moksha specific, you can usually find answers from the well documented Ubuntu. Have a look at this hopefully that will point you in the right directon. ๐

I think this is possible with Bodhi, yes. I use openvpn which is supported by the Bodhi Network manager with an add-on so is easy to setup if you have the standard client profile file from your vpn provider. I think I had to install a package to add the vpn support tho... Then, you select where you want to share the connection... since I'm connected to network already with wifi, i can share it out on my ethernet port.... anything that plugged in would get assigned an ip by bodhi I think and be behind the vpn I believe....

I've been using AirVPN for quite a few years. Works like a charm on Ubuntu/Bodhi. Affordable, straightforward configuration, Ubuntu packages, graphical UI, great community... Higlhy recommended! airvpn.org/
