Is anyone running Variety on Bodhi/Moksha? I can select and display from one of the downloaded images, but I can't get the images to change automatically as they should. I'm sure there's a way to get it to work properly, but how? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there No need to use variety. Bodhi has its own module for this purpose. Install moksha-module-slideshow and load it under module section. The directory for placing pictures is ~/.e/e/backgrounds. If you want to change dir, place slideshow gadget on the screen and configure it to your needs. Stefan i.imgur.com/UMbvUIv.jpg

Thanks Stephen for the quick reply. I still like Variety's options and effects better, but it's not a deal-breaker as far as keeping bodhi goes. I'll give it a try. Moksha is definitely a desktop like no other (except for enlightenment). It just takes a little getting used to. Thanks again for your help.

But several years ago I sent the developer an email explaining how to make variety work with enlightenment and moksha. They took my advice and it was working then. I just tested it on a clean install of BL5.1 and installed variety from Ubuntus repos and it is working. It is throwing lots of unrelated errors in stderr which I am ignoring as I don't have time or the motivation to investigate these errors.

Previously, I could see in Variety's menu that it was at least selecting different wallpapers to display, although they weren't showing up on the desktop. Now when I run variety I'm not even seeing it on the shelf. I suppose I could try reinstalling Bodhi. I'm dual booting Bohdi with Pop Os, but I don't see how that could be the issue and Variety is working fine on the Pop Os partition. Also, I can't figure out where to place the slideshow module I downloaded from Git. Can you tell me the correct path to my 'modules' folder?

I just fired-up Variety, and for some reason it's working fine. I didn't do a thing, and I can't remember if there were any updates since I tried running it last. Anyway, Thanks for the responses and assistance.

As to the slideshow module no need to download it from git. It is in our repos: moksha-module-slideshow.
