I want to preface this by saying I have a Dell Mini 9 that I have been running Bodhi on for years. It is currently running 5.1.0 x86 Legacy with no problems.
Specs for the Mini 10 (1012):
Intel Atom 1.66 GHz
2 GB Ram
250 GB HD
I installed Bodhi 5.1.0 x64 Standard on it and noticed no problems, everything was fine until a reboot. It would hang. I thought maybe it was something I'd done. Or something I installed. I tried to boot into advanced recovery, but couldn't control the keyboard. So I rebuilt it.
The second install, it did the same thing on subsequent reboot. Hung. So I rebuilt trying Legacy, thinking perhaps even though the CPU should be able to handle 64bit, maybe something was wrong. It also hung on reboot.
So then I tried Bodhi 4.5 Legacy, thinking perhaps the OS had gotten too advanced for the hardware.
I went through this 6 times thinking "it must be me." I even installed Windows 7 on it briefly so I could update the BIOS.
Eventually, I installed Xubuntu, and the hang on reboot issue went away, however, it was SO SLOW on this hardware I couldn't stand it.
So here I am back over here trying to figure it out. It is running 5.1.0, with all updates/upgrades applied. But now is hung again on reboot.
Unfortunately, even though I've used Bodhi for years, I'm still a n00b when it comes to Linux.
I get the splash screen. I hit esc to look behind. It hangs at a different place every time. =/
avahi-daemon.service
system-backlight@backlight:acpi_video0.service
apport.service
systemd-logind.service
system-backlight@leds:dell::kdb_backlight.service
grub-common.service
These are just a few of the examples. It's making troubleshooting a bear.
Any thoughts on what I need to do to fix this, or commands I need to run to provide more information to get help (I understand I may not have provided much.)
