I'm on Bodhi 5, which I wish to pair with an Android phone. I've managed to get it to show up in the list of devices fine in Blueman, but when I right click and click "pair", the phone shows a "pairing - enter this passkey" or whatever message, and a number, BUT THE AUTHENTICATION DIALOGUE BOX SIMPLY DOESN'T SHOW UP IN BODHI - ie. a place where I can enter the passkey! What gives? What am I supposed to do?

I have no idea why Moksha/Bodhi won't play nice with paring using the blueman gui, I haven't investigated thoroughly, though in the mean time you could try paring on the command line. These instructions will hopefully help. |

as mentioned in Hippytaff's link, i found bluetoothctl helpful because it can show you the status of the connection between the two devices and some limited error messages if things aren't working as they should. |

I had the same problem. There came a message about incoming file but no authentication dialog popped up.
What i did is clicking on the bluetooth icon, choose "local services" than " transfer" and click on "Accept files from trusted devices". Although no authentication message pops up I can receive files.
