I am new to Bodhi Linux and having used it for a month, I am planning to stay here. What I am looking for is a Desktop/Android wireless connector like KDE Connect. I have used KDE connect with KDE Client and as well as with GS connect.
I tried using GS Connect. The extension installs in Mozilla Firefox but then I get the error message as Connector not found (Obviously I won't be having GNOME Shell here).
Looking for an advice from the community.

Hi neom
As far as I'm aware, we don't have anything like KDE Connect, but the Devs might prove me wrong, maybe that's something the community could work on making.

kde connect is in the repos. i have it installed and it worked the last time i tried it a few months ago. sudo apt install kdeconnect if you want to give it a try. my system also lists kde-cli-tools and kde-cli-tools-data as installed. i don't know if those were brought in with kdeconnect or had to be added separately.

Thanks for the inputs. I was not willing to pollute my Bodhi with KDE-bits but I guess I will have to do that.

Yes, unfortunately you will pollute Bodhi. I also have this KDE mess when I install KDEnlive for video editing. I like that SW so I have to tolerate it Stefan

Ylee turned me on to the --no-install-recommends command as in sudo apt install kdeconnect --no-install-recommends (just install the dependencies) It can help with unnecessary/unwanted bloat. I have been playing with it and as Ylee warned me it is not perfect because sometimes the recommended packages are actually packages you may want or need for something else.
Anyway on a fresh Bodhi install (nothing added or deleted) sudo apt install kdeconnect = 165 packages 26.7 Mb (my guess is your 151 just means some pkgs were already installed) sudo apt install kdeconnect --no-install-recommends = 143 packages 25.3 Mb
Probably not worth ripping it out and reinstalling with --no-install-recommends in this case

Are you personally using KDE Connect? I am having this issue of intermittent connect/disconnect and difficulty with device identification.

No - I am an iPhone user but plan to explore installing some of the alternatives to KDE Connect on Bodhi in the future.

Indeed - I have a love/hate relationship with iPhone but I am too deep with the family plan that provides them and too lazy to seek out the alternative - not unlike my family and friends who profess to hate Windows but can't seem to make a change.
