This may be a little long winded but I want to make sure I get it all down. I was given a laptop to evaluate: a Gateway 2-in-1, 11.6". It runs more or less fine on Windows (which came installed). There are some issues with the touchpad but that might be my heavy hand.
Well I can't do a proper evaluation with Windows. That would be like using training wheels. I booted BL 5.1 LiveCD and was encouraged that the touch screen worked. Less encouraging is the WiFi. It won't stay connected. Sometimes it doesn't even see the network, although sometimes it does. I saw something on Ubuntu about editing the connection and setting IPv6 to "Ignore". I did that but it didn't help.
Now, maybe it's just a LiveCD artifact but I'm reluctant to install without knowing if the nework will work. Anyway here's the inxi log:
