There is no output on standard error.
There is no core dump.
It's not super frequent. I can edit without trouble for hours, sometimes.
Instead of starting `gedit` from the menu, I start it with a script that always makes my home directory the current directory, then forks off `gedit` with the "&" syntax, under `nohup` (which I think basically has no effect), and with stderr redirected to a new log file for each run. But this always worked fine on Xubuntu.
Bodhi is amazingly beautiful and sleek looking, so I'm going to feel a bit sad going back to Xubuntu. But I need to be running a system that doesn't kill my editors. Fortunately for me, I have high-spec hardware and it runs Xubuntu fine. I did observe a bit of difference in memory usage between the systems when there are no browsers running.
