Hello everybody.
On my fresh installed Bodhi linux i try to suspend the computer and lock the desktop automatically by closing the lid of my laptop. Suspend works fine out of the box, but the desktop is not locked. I tried "Lock after suspend" in Settings/Screen/Screen Lock, but without success. I also tried to change the action when closing the lid to a command like:
dm-tool lock & systemctl suspend This works fine from terminal, but not via settings. Suspending works, but not the lock.
When i hit Crtl - Alt - l the screen is locked. What command is fired in background?
Thanks for all answers Peter

Hello and welcome
I tried "Lock after suspend" in Settings/Screen/Screen Lock with success. Not sure why it does not work for you. Anyway are you sure, your pc is in suspend mode if you close the lid? Try to go to suspend via menu->system->suspend

Thx Stefan, for this quick answer.
> Try to go to suspend via > menu->system->suspend
I did, and yes, the screen was locked as i wanted to :-) It does not, when i just close the lid. But the ThinkPad-Suspend-LED is on in the same way as after menu->system->suspend.
In settings->input->acpi-bindings "lid closed" is bound to system/suspend.
What command is fired by menu->system->suspend? I could bind "lid closed" to that command.
greetings Peter

OK, try to rebind in ACPI settings. Delete Lid Closed, add a new bind and follow instructions. Anyway, try to play with pm-utils. Do you have this package installed?

yes, is installed. I tried: sudo /usr/sbin/pm-suspend The system suspends, but without locking the screen.
pm-utils is rather old, so i also tried: systemctl suspend Same effect: suspend but no lock.

I deleted the binding and applied the change. Adding it again fails. "Please trigger the APCI event you wish to bind to" When i try and close the lid it does not recognize it. Instead the ThinkPad Suspend-LED lights on (not every time i try, but sometimes; don't understand when and when not).
In fact it does not recognize any button or combination i press.
What's going on under the hood? :-)

I followed the instructions in your link (changing logind.conf). Without success. Like before, suspend led goes on when closing the lid, and fan turns off – somehow suspend, but without screen locking.
> What happens if you > uninstall pm-utils?
I wanted to uninstall, but then i have to uninstall all the moksha-themes and modules, too. That's not what i want.
Ich still cannot bind any new apci button (even not closing the lid).
