I've been following the Linux Golang download instructions here. However, when I get to the second step, the command doesn't remain after the session: export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin Other sources are recommending that I edit the .bashrc file, but I can't find the relevant one in this distro. In the examples I've seen, they contain only export statements. Where should I be inserting this (or other bash) code to make the added path a permanent feature to $PATH? I've also attempted the following edit to the $HOME/.profile in nano: # set PATH so it includes the go folder if it exists if [ -d "/usr/local/go/bin" ] ; then PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin" fi
However, this doesn't seem to work, either.Update: It works fine after a reboot.
