Hello, I have really old laptop where I installed Linux Bodhi distro, and I want to connect bigger monitor to laptop because laptop screen is really small.
Problem is that when I connect monitor with HDMI to laptop, and run xrandr command I see that HDMI is disconnected.
Also I tried arandr but I could not find solution.
Laptop is HP 630 and running on Intel.

Hello and welcome
You need to activate it firstly in arandr. Go to the outputs tab and activate hdmi output. After that, press last icon to save xrandr settings to Moksha startup application file. It should work...

Hmmm, do you have a properly inserted HDMI connector into your laptop or monitor? Check it...

This is an unusual problem. You have intel hd 3000 built in graphics and thats fully supported by linux kernel, so I dont think problem there. It is normal to have to enable HDMI in display settings if you dont boot with it on already, but seems you've tried that both ways. And not hardware issue since cable and screen work with other distro you say.
I think we need someone with advanced skills to help troubleshoot this one...

Well it seems like now it works, but it does not work every time...I need to restart laptop few times sometimes to make it work. I was trying some commands from net, maybe that something fixed. Anyway, I am satisfied with this solution. Thanks to everybody
