Hey thanks for one of my favorite Linux distros This is in my opinion the best in interface but I have some suggestions and tech issues:
1. Please add a standard ubuntu gnome control panel for faster access to all of the essentials in the future if possible The current settings panel in my opinion takes too long to navigate and is missing features like disable trackpad when typing - driving me nuts
2. Having a memory leak in thunar on live usb - 3.8GB at boot - delete a 1.4gb file and the space is not reclaimed or freed up. Memory or space on USB keeps getting lower especially after google gets it's hands on chromium after login. Go to sleep listening to my Buddha meditation CD from Tibet every night and by morning space just keeps magically disappearing.
3. Thunar does not report folder file size correctly - no option to calculate full file size of all sub folders and include in total size - weird???
running Bodhi 6.0.0
Previous versions booted faster on liveusb than any other Linux distro - this one now takes longer than all of the others: Mint, Parrot, Garuda, PureOS, etc
Garuda is so bug ridden it is not actually fit for release.
4. Would be great to add more space on liveusb and persistence - on 16GB USB you can have a super cool 11GB of space - that would be rockin'
5. Where is file search in Thunar cause Terminolgy search comes back with some really weird garbled answers. Pretty adept at command line but not expert level.
Kind thanks and keep up the great work.

1. You're welcome to install it yourself, but very few gnome settings would apply to Moksha - although mouse/trackpad might - and it'd probably pull in half of gnome as dependencies! We do know Moksha's Settings panel could use improvement tho, but for now, it is what it is. Touchpad settings are far more likely to get added before a complete rework tho. And note you can search settings from the "quick laucher" settings tab (alt+esc or win+space keyboard shortcut).
2. What space are you talking about on a live usb? Afaik any storage space is ramdisk, cuz there is no actual storage space. And a memory leak usually means an app RAM usage is increasing. It's unclear what you're possibly trying to say. If you move a file to trash space is not freed, you must empty trash...
3. If there's an actual bug with thunar we can look into it or help get it reported upstream, but first need to understand. By right click/properties on a folder, it should show full size...
4. I think ventoy is your solution for that. Put Bodhi ISO on a 16GB flash drive and use the remaning space for whatever.
5. I don't think thunar offers search. Maybe you should check out catfish?
sudo apt install catfish which you can set as a custom action in thunar.
Alternatively, in a terminal one can use the find command, for example if I wanted to find all the png's starting with term in the icons folder I could do
find /usr/share/icons -name term*.png
and if I wanted to find homework.odt in my home folder I would
find $HOME -name homework.odt

Hello there
You can find new mouse and touchpad options in settings panel. You need to update and upgrade system first. Not sure there is an option for disabling touchpad while typing but I will have a look.
Yes, settings panel is too complex and sorta chaotic. It is a matter of time to get use to it. Anyway we know about this fact. I do not assume we will make it better as we are only 2 developers with hands full of duties.
Some your requests are unclear for me. Faster boot time? I even think BL 6.0 boots faster after installing. As far as live session is concerned there could be a script checking the partition consistency. We have an Ubuntu installer so it all relies on it.
If you do not like Thunar or it does not fulfil your needs replace it with another one. For example pcmanfm.

Thanks. I am learning the command stuff. abcde works great for ogg cd copy. Will install catfish - forgot about that: Why is orchidvero in my connect list when I have never connected to it - a illegal surveillance neighbor violating my privacy? Aeolus is not running. screenshot 1.1mb too big too upload. Images of file size not calculating properly in the Chromium folder: ![]() Attachments:

Thanks Stefan.
I really like Thunar just in a position where all of my pc's have been hacked and I am saving them as evidence:
Hence I am locked into running all my distros on liveUSB for now - liveUSB boots slower with Bodhi and with Mint
The windows HD on this PC was infected with multiple win32 rootkits and spyware - being reported by Linux as damaged boot sector and still tries to take over UEFI Linux liveUSB boots - sometimes have to burn a new MintLiveUSB since when the current one stops working I can no longer get it to boot again on this machine without burning a new image via dd copy.
On some occasions the liveUSB option will not appear at boot time in the list of options even thought USB is the primary boot selection in the BIOS. First on the list followed by the other hardware options.
Thanks for the help and support - much appreciated. Bodhi is my fav Linux distro and Thunar works great except for file size calc - check the images I uploaded.

The current settings panel ... is missing features like disable trackpad when typing
After the waiter mentioned there are now touchpad settings, I checked and sure enough they're there: Settings Panel-->Input-->Mouse-->Touchpad. The setting to disable trackpad while typing is called "palm detection", and it appears you have to "Enable Device Extras" for any of those below to take affect.

Hey Stefan, how bout a setting to completely disable touchpad? That's what I do with "xinput --disable 13" cuz I use external trackball... or even better a setting to only disable touchpad whenever an external mouse is connected.

Under "Mouse", not "Mouse Bindings".
If it still isn't there tho, it's probably cuz you're using an older version of Moksha on live iso. Once you install bodhi you will be able to run updates and use current version.

I ran these commands in an effort to free up the RAM/Disk Cache whatever the issue is with zero luck. swapon -a swapoff -a sudo echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches in Terminology gave me a permission error so I ran it in a sudo Terminolgy window as root - still no luck
Any ideas?
