How do you search for and install software in Bodhi 6.11. Tried "sudo apt-cache search firefox" and "sudo apt install firefox gedit" and got no results.

sudo is only needed for software installation (or editing system wide config files). apt search firefox would be sufficient and one way to search. There's also synaptic if you prefer a gui version of pacakge manager, or the bodhi app center if you prefer an appstore. And there's a couple other app stores you could install if you like, gnome-software or plasma-discover. Some more info about software sources here bodhilinux.boards.net/post/3225I dont know why your install command didn't work tho. Perhaps it's a brand new installation and you have never updated the database? Please post screenshot of: sudo apt update sudo apt install firefox gedit for further troubleshooting...
