When installing Bodhi linux , i've accidentally missed to put that tick to this "Install third party software updates for graphics cards and WiFi hardware" part. it's been months now. but everything seems to be working flawlessly except my pc is struggling to handle full hd media contents .well, it didnt happen before during my first bodhi installation (with the tick ON) Do i need to be concerned about this ? is there any method to install these third party updates ?

Hi Amila
It sounds like you might be using an open source version of your graphics card driver. But that’s a guess. To find out what graphics card you have, and driver details etc open a terminal and do
inxi -G If it’s Intel then my guess is probably wrong. If it’s Nvidia or something then we can work out what proprietary driver you need to install.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, it's intel. been using bodhi since 2021. never had this problem, it was able to play any video i throw at it without dropping a sweat. lately i did some partionings, so i had to reinstall bodhi, during my last installation i missed that above mentioned part. so i was wondering, could it be the problem Graphics: Device-1: Intel 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics driver: i915 v: kernel Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.13 driver: intel unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa resolution: 1280x1024~60Hz

That looks fine to me, some people play around with swapping out intel drivers for modesetting etc, but I don't think that will do any good. You can enable third party repos in /etc/apt/sources.list by removing the # on the lines that end with universe and multiverse .
Here's what mine looks like.
## N.B. software from this repository is ENTIRELY UNSUPPORTED by the Ubuntu ## team. Also, please note that software in universe WILL NOT receive any ## review or updates from the Ubuntu security team. deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal universe # deb-src http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal universe deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal-updates universe # deb-src http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal-updates universe
## N.B. software from this repository is ENTIRELY UNSUPPORTED by the Ubuntu ## team, and may not be under a free licence. Please satisfy yourself as to ## your rights to use the software. Also, please note that software in ## multiverse WILL NOT receive any review or updates from the Ubuntu ## security team. deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal multiverse # deb-src http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal multiverse deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal-updates multiverse # deb-src http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ focal-updates multiverse
Then do sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade or alternatively you could try reinstalling and selecting third party software option and seeing if it does actually make a difference.
